By the grace of God IMS youth wing budget meeting was held on 13^th June 09 at 5 P.M to 7 P.M in IMS office and following were the participants

Absentees: Dass – Could not attend due to programme in his church

Minutes

1. Since the agenda was to work out the IMS youth budget for the fiscal year 2009-10 members present suggested the following programmes

a) One day retreat either on 29-August-09 or 12^th Sep 09 for all of Chennai IMS youth involving the youth from Paderu; message by any one of the following speakers Manoj Samuel, Freddy Joseph, Ashok Vedanagayam, Albert Solomon.

b) IMS Youth to organize a 2 day convention involving either Paul Thangaya or Mohan C. Lazarus on 13^th and 14^th of February 2010

c) Field trip during Pongal holidays either to Indi in Karnataka else to Assam involving equal or more of College students. Students to be not charged more than Rs. 2000.

d) IMS youth will conduct an interchurch cricket match on 26^th September and finals will be played post lunch on 2^nd October at Georges Grounds.

e) More focus should be towards the Carecell and the zonal meetings once a month.

f) Road Trip – to Eagle garden on 18^th July 09; there was contention about event as it involves risk and does not hold a great purpose, however it was decided to do it as a team of around 25 with clear instructions to the riders about the safety & precautions.

2. Youth membership form to be prepared and start collecting one time subscription fee of Rs. 100; to constantly remind ourselves about the target of adding 1000 IMS youth members and 100 Youth prayer warriors.

3. 200 T-shirts to be printed that can be used for the Sale and other programmes to raise funds.

4. As an out reach event orphanage visit for a day has been planned during the Christmas season.

5. Once a month meeting of all the care cell members at IMS office for fellowship

We are finally going on a mission field trip

By the Grace of our Lord ....a  18 member team is leaving to Paderu in Andhra Pradesh  between January 14th and January 19th .

Hello everyone

Please find  below - one design for blue background   and one design for white background.  IMS Youth Chennai -2008  to be written on the sleeves.

Based on our initial talks on the concept of eagles....

Isaiah 40:31:But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

September 3rd Planning Meeting

Members Present :- Debi, Micheal, Clifton, Rhoda, Dass (had to leave early as son was sick), Reuben (down with food poisoning)
Earnest request to all the members to be present for the next meeting as it will be crucial for the trip.
Date will be informed soon.

The schedule for the trip was discussed, plans for youth stall in IMS Sale were also discussed, responsibilities for members.
Proposed schedule for the trip
October 3rd : Departure from Chennai
October 4th: 11.30 am reach Anangapalli, Jeep to Paderu, Lunch at Paderu
(hope to stay in the dormitory or lodge - Rhoda to speak to Missionary David Raj and confirm)

- 6.30pmIntroductory Session by Jebsaseelan ( Micheal/Debi to speak to him and confirm)
Dinner
8.30 pm onwards Interaction with Hostel Children
October 5th : Sunday
7.00am Breakfast
7.45am Trek to Church

2.00pm Painting the Church
6.00pm Feild visit......after which splitting for Prayer Walks - each group asked to maintain a
written report of what they see
10.00pm : Campfire...sharing of burdern , committment
October 6th: Sunrise Fellowship, Departure to Vizag after breakfast.

Request all members to confirm participation by payment of Rs.600/-. Also cofirm participation by others who would be interested in suppporting missionary work ...we can encourage those who came for the IMS youth camp and the get-to-gethers.

Confirm participation at earliest.....inform Debi... handover money... Debi/Michael to keep track of number of members confirmed and let others know how many more can join. Need to book tickets.... all confirmations to reach Debi by 10.9.2008 .. Debi - 9600117008

Clfton handed over first confirmation by giving Rs.600/- towards participation
Debi confirmed participation by giving Rs.1000/-

IMS Sale Plans
Clifton volunteered to take the responsibiltiy of designing t-shirts and printing them - cost Rs.130
He will give us options in the next meeting

message - IMS Youth Chennai - maybe concept of eagles.
We need to decide how to fund this.

IInd idea - Ads for individual stalls on the Sale Day, CD for remembrance
Needs to be planned more..... need people to co-ordinate this.

Meeting closed with Prayer .....the need for more prayer and more committment from all core group members was realised. Communication within members to be strenghthened. Debbi/Michael to take responsibility of keeping all members informed of proceedings.
Rhoda responsible for maintaining written records and updating blog.

Keep Praying for the Paderu Trip

August 31st - Quick Meeting-

A quick meeting to further the idea of Paderu trip happened at Bentinck School
Members Present :- Reuben, Dass,Michael, Dharini, Joshua, Rhoda
Few more details about the planned trip to Paderu was discussed.
Dates Finalised : October 3rd (night) Friday departure from Chennai
October 7th (early morning) Tuesday arrival at Chennai

Youth Trip Fee: Rs.1500/-
No of persons : from 25 to 30
Request for Youth Fund to be used for this first trip to be made by Debi and Michael at the earliest.

Youth Trip to Paderu - Proposal - August Meetings

Members present for 1st meeting :- Debi, Michael, Reuben,Eveson,Rhoda
A youth retreat at Chennai on September 3rd was proposed by the IMSchennai branch members. The youth group felt another meeting at Chennai will at short notice will not be effective. A proposal and plan was made to conduct the retreat at a mission feild instead.

Objectives were laid down and a tentative schedule was made

Objectives of the Youth Trip to Paderu

Participants to be motivated spiritually by witnessing the work of missionaries.
Participants to take up ownership for the mission field they are visiting
Participants to contribute their time and effort in at least one ‘on the spot activity’ such as medical camp, painting, cleaning etc., which should be of help to those at Paderu.
After returning to Chennai participants to continue upholding IMS activities through IMS Youth.

Youth Get-togethers - 1st Attempt

The core group got together in 4 zones of chennai to conduct get-togethers for youth in the month of April 2008
After a break in May
The get-togethers continued only in two zones.
We hope to sustain it with better co-ordination in future.
